Junior basketball player and TikTok star Quinn Slack is looking to be a pivotal piece in the CB East boys’ basketball team for the next two years. Slack had a huge impact on East’s JV and Varsity teams in his freshman and sophomore years. This guard can drain threes, thread the needle, and clamp anyone with his passes. Quinn has had more playing time throughout the summer and fall and is expecting to be a starter going into the upcoming season. Alongside his skills on the court, he also has quite the TikTok recognition as well. Amassing over 300 followers and 5,000 likes, Quinn shows off his goofy personality and dancing skills to his fans.

What would you say is the best part of your game?
QB: “I take pride in my defense, so I’d probably say that. I don’t know anybody else that tries as hard as me, which allows me to lock up the other team’s best player.”
When did you start playing basketball and why?
Quinn went on to talk about playing basketball since he was very young because of his dad and their love for Duke and West Virginia basketball. His dad taught him how to play in their driveway and always cheered him on. Watching Duke games and highlights made him love the sport even more. This early start made basketball a special way for him to connect with his dad and find something he really cared about.
What inspired you to start making TikToks?
QB: “I only started doing TikTok because I got last place in my Fantasy League last year. I’m coming for that championship this year though.”
Who do you model your game after?
QB: “Deuce McBride; he’s currently on the New York Knicks but he used to play for West Virginia. Deuce is currently one of the best perimeter defenders in the NBA. He is an insanely good catch-and-shoot shooter. I’ve always loved watching him play, and I mimic my game after his.”
