In search of an upscale dinner spot to celebrate an 18th birthday, Google led us to Stella of New Hope, a top-rated restaurant located at 50 S Main St, New Hope. Known for its elegant yet inviting ambiance, Stella offers private dining rooms, outdoor seating with stunning views of the Delaware River, and seasonally changing brunch and dinner menus that accommodate allergies. With reviews raving over “the rich and perfectly cooked Prime Ribeye” (John W) and the “sweet and savory Brussels sprouts appetizer” (Bethany J), we eagerly booked a reservation for two.
Upon entering, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated at our table, where adjustable lighting illuminated the diverse dinner menu. Initially drawn to the highly praised Brussels sprouts, the Maple Bourbon Bacon and the Wagyu Beef Tataki also caught our eye. Unable to choose just one appetizer, we decided to order all three. While appetizers ranging from $14-$19 may seem deceptive, the exceptional quality and rich flavors justified the cost. Of the three dishes, we agreed that the wagyu stood out the most in flavor, the bacon impressed us with its precise temperature, and the Brussels sprouts were the most reorderable, offering a generous portion great for sharing.

As we prepared our stomachs for our main course, we both ordered the Prime Ribeye valued at $68, with one medium and one medium rare to test for temperature accuracy. Going above and beyond, our waitress immediately removed our cleared plates, refilled our Sakura Highball mocktails, and even provided us with fresh utensils and stronger knives for our entrees. This level of service—thoughtful, efficient, and detail-oriented—made our dining experience feel truly special, elevating the celebration of Sophia’s birthday. When our entrees shortly arrived, our prior expectations were exceeded. The Prime Ribeye, cooked to perfection, had sides consisting of a peppery green salad and duck-fat confit potatoes. A perfectly fried quail egg on the steak added additional richness to the already fresh dish.
