In a recent interview, Nick Bonargo shared the exhilarating details of a game that saw a dramatic turnaround.
The game started off rough for the Patriots. “In the first half, we didn’t play our best; we were down 4-2,” Nick recounted. Facing a significant deficit, the team knew they had to make some changes. “We made a few adjustments and switched the formation at halftime,” Nick explained. The team shifted from a 4-5-1 formation to a more aggressive 4-3-3 setup. This tactical change aimed to bolster their offensive capabilities. With the new formation, the team went into the second half with a more aggressive mindset, determined to close the gap. “We needed to score,” Nick emphasized. The Patriots quickly realized they had to step up their game.
Early in the second half, Nick assisted Dan Fry, making the score 4-3. “Our team calls him the GOAT,” Nick said, highlighting Fry’s importance to the team. With about 10 minutes left, the team continued to press, driven by the momentum of Fry’s goal.
After Sean O’Donnell’s beautifully placed corner kick, Nick was able to tap it in to tie it up for the Pats, a moment that electrified the crowd and boosted the team’s energy. “It was an amazing feeling,” Nick shared. The team didn’t stop there; they pushed on and just 6 minutes into overtime Nick was able to put the Rams away, ultimately securing a 5-4 victory. “It was a fantastic comeback, and everyone played their hearts out,” Nick said proudly. “It was a total team effort,” he concluded.
Congratulations to Nick and his team for an unforgettable comeback win!
