Looking to the Future – March

Looking+to+the+Future+-+March

Mackenzie Watters

March is a difficult month for most teens. It has no holidays during the entire month. Instead, it has five-day weeks stretching from the 1st to the 31st (end of MP 3 in CBSD), tireless early morning wake-ups, and the dreaded daylight savings on March 12 that will have us dragging. So, to stay positive, it’s nice to be in-the-know about all the fun holidays and observances March has to offer.

So— whether it be saving some ideas for next year to spice up a long March, or celebrating something new this year, (or even using it as an excuse to enjoy a snack you love…!), let these days brighten your “spring ahead” mornings that are now missing their sunlight. Here are some of my favorites that I will be sure to celebrate with friends and family in the future, and I encourage you to do the same!

March 1: National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day

March 4: National Grammar Day

March 6: National Oreo Cookie Day

March 9: National Meatball Day

March 12: Plant a Flower Day

March 14: National Pi Day & National Potato Chip Day

March 17: St. Patrick’s Day

March 26: Make Up Your Own Holiday Day

March 28: Respect your Cat Day

March 30: I Am in Control Day

We are in the home stretch East. Nine more full days of school until the end of Marking Period 3 on March 31st! We are so close to the finish line this school year… and about to reach the home stretch and the end of (what feels like) the longest MP. Hopefully some of these observations in March can help quicken the short time that is left!
