Red Rooster Hot Chicken is a newly opened fast-food restaurant that serves authentic halal chicken and other delicious comfort foods. The founder, 18-year- old Raheem Kakar, is a former CB East graduate and opened Red Rooster right after he graduated. Kakar is full of fire with a driven passion to make Red Rooster beyond an ordinary restaurant; a restaurant where food is made with the heart, not just the hands.
Raheem’s drive for food started during his early childhood years by watching cooking shows. His main inspiration came from spending his days cooking in the kitchen with his family, as food-lovers and successful business owners of numerous restaurants all over Pennsylvania. He grew up learning the hustle of a busy kitchen and experiencing the creation of meals made not only with ingredients, but with love.
His family is a big part of his success, and they keep him going on the hardest days. He shows gratitude towards his mom, sister, and brother-in-law during an interview, “I want to thank my whole family, my whole team,” Raheem expressed. “Everything came together smoothly. Anytime there’s a problem, say something breaks in the store, I call one of them, and they’ll cover for me at the store while I fix it. They’re here to help. So, they play a big in keeping the restaurant running.”
During Raheem’s senior year of high school, he was contemplating college or starting a business, and he decided to pursue a business. He explains that “hot chicken was the big trend in the past couple years, so I saw an opportunity and decided to take it.” Moreover, the founder conducts a small menu so his chefs can be the best at what they’re doing: “We don’t skip any steps we do everything from the start to the finish line, and we focus on the quality.”
The first location was opened in Warminster, PA, last summer and was a huge success. It offered dine-in seating, takeout, and delivery – similar to the new Doylestown location. The menu is filled with endless possibilities of deliciousness. It has chicken sandwiches, tenders, fries, loaded fries, macaroni and cheese, wings, milkshakes, and ice cream. You can even customize the spice level on your chicken and dip them in their homemade sauce.
